You have barely seen your family except to pass them as you are rushing out the door, and you feel too guilty to run off to the gym. Here is the perfect solution: a great full body workout plus playtime with your kids. <p>Here&#8217;s Luann&#8217;s choice for one of her best family workouts. Luann Abrams is an ACE certified personal trainer who focuses on family <a href="http://theworkout.com/fitness-tips/"target="_self"title="fitness tips" >fitness</a>.  She trains clients and teaches family fitness classes in her community. <p><strong>Family Workout Routine:</strong></p>
<p>Find a place to run in your house–a hallway works great. If the weather is nice take it outside in your yard or on the sidewalk. Run back and forth chasing each other (for the little kids) or timing each other (for the older kids) while incorporating the following sports conditioning moves:</p>
<p><strong>High Knees </strong>– Stand straight and lift your knees up to hip-level as you run.</p>
<p><strong>Butt Kicks</strong> – Hit your butt with your heels as you run. Land softly on the balls of your feet.</p>
<p><strong>Jump Skip</strong> – Jump and drive your bent knee straight up as you skip forward, exaggerating your natural arm movements.</p>
<p><strong>Walking Lunges</strong> – Step forward with your first leg landing heel first. Lower body by bending both knees until back knee nearly touches the floor. Lift yourself up using both legs and step forward and repeat with the opposite leg.</p>
<p><strong>Ski jumps</strong> – Jump along an imaginary line down the middle of your course. Starting on one side with knees slightly bent and feet angled at about 45 degrees toward the line, jump over the line turning so knees and toes are at a 45 degree angle toward the line on the other side. Jump to one end and then repeat jumping backwards to the other end of your course.</p>
<p><strong>Jumps</strong> – Just jump! Remember to land softly, which means you have to use your muscles to slow the momentum of your lowering body and not lockout your knees. Add an obstacle, or several, that you have to jump over.</p>
<p><strong>Stairs</strong> – If you have stairs, you have a built-in workout machine. Running up and down the stairs two-at-a-time, sideways, and backwards is a phenomenal workout. Carry a weight (or your kid!) to really amp up your calorie burn. You may want to skip this with younger kids until they are sure-footed.</p>
<p><strong>Drop and Give Me</strong> – At either end of your course, have a mat or towel where you perform a different <a href="http://theworkout.com/people-exercise/"target="_self"title="exercise" >exercise</a> such as push-ups, crunches, or tricep dips, each time through. <a rel="attachment wp-att-3194" href="http://theworkout.com/free-workout-routines/luann-abrams-workout/attachment/luann-child/"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-3194" title="Luann-child" src="http://theworkout.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Luann-child.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="132" /></a></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here&#8217;s one of my best full body workouts, after only 20 minutes you will get a killer workout!  The <a href="http://theworkout.com/people-exercise/"target="_self"title="exercise" >exercise</a>s are simple and work all your major muscles groups. When done to failure with a light &#8211; moderate weight the exercises are effective for achieving strength, endurance and cardio results plus get your body burning fat for hours!</p>
<p><strong>Warm up: </strong>400 hundred meter run (1 lap around the track)<a rel="attachment wp-att-3077" href="http://theworkout.com/free-workout-routines/full-body-workout/attachment/back-squat/"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-3077" title="back-squat" src="http://theworkout.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/back-squat.jpg" alt="" width="250" height="247" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Full Body Blast Workout Routine:</strong></p>
<p>-<strong> 5 </strong>minutes pull ups<br />
- 1 min break<br />
- <strong>5</strong> minutes Body weight bench presses (Beginners = 45 lb bar to 1/2 your weight)<br />
- 1 min break<br />
- <strong>5</strong> Minutes deadlifts<br />
- 1 min break<br />
- <strong>5</strong> minutes Body weight back squats (Beginners = 45 lb bar to 1/2 your weight)</p>
<p>In these exercises do as many reps as you can in the 5 minutes time frame. Use the 1 min break to record your reps in each work out. 20 minutes of hell for a Full body blast! How many reps did you do?</p>

<p>You can do this workout every third day to stay conditioned.  It’s a simple workout that  really challenges the chest, back and arms.   It’s a pyramid type routine.  In  it, we do 2 push-ups for each pull-up.  The goal is to see how high you can get your  reps.   Because you’re dropping for push-ups and jumping up for pull-ups, your  heart rate will jump as well!</p>
<p>Start by doing one pull-up followed  by 2 push ups.  After that, each number doubles until you’ve maxed out your  upper body.<strong><strong><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-756" title="ronbetta2" src="http://theworkout.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/ronbetta2.bmp" alt="ronbetta2" /></strong></strong></p>

<div>When you have maxed out your arms, back  and chest, drop for either: 20 jumping lunges, 25 crunches, or 50 jumping  jacks.  This gives the arms a little time to recover and gets your heart rate nice  and high.  When complete, it’s time to reverse the numbers to finish the full upper body blast workout!</div>

<p>- with 135lbs, do 4 minutes of the following:<br />
1x Snatch<br />
1x Burpee<br />
2x Snatch<br />
2x Burpee<br />
3x Snatch<br />
3x Burpee<br />
4x Snatch<br />
4x Burpee<br />
- and so on for max # of rounds that you can do in 4 minutes. Beginners lower the weight to 65-95 lbs</p>
<p>- Take one minute rest then repeat the entire workout in reverse for time. Try to match your 4 minutes! Post your time and the weight that you used. Share with a friend (below) and compare your times!<br />
