Clean, Lean and Green: A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Body

As a good friend of mine said, to be lean you must eat clean. To take it a step, further add in the greens. Nutrition is an integral piece of the pie when it comes to being healthy.

Do you know how many calories you should be eating a day? How many dark green leafy veggies should you have per week? To check out the most recent USDA guidelines log onto http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx, type in your age and gender to get a generalized plan. Or add in your height, weight, and physical activity to get a personalized daily caloric intake. If you’re looking into loosing weight, just subtract 500-700 calories and this will help you reach your desired goal. The old saying goes that you are what you eat, so choose food that are clean, natural, organic, minimal ingredient based, choose fruits or veggies instead of a glazed confection. These simple acts will lead to a healthier and leaner looking physique.
