Brian Tracy’s Health Tips

June 18, 2010 by Joe Gigantino

If you have heard of Brian Tracy, then you may know that he is a Best Selling Author and Professional Speaker who has helped thousands of people achieve their personal and professional goals.

He is one of America’s leading authorities on the enhancement of personal effectiveness, the development of human potential, and the art of salesmanship.

Brian has consulted with more than 500 corporations, speaks four languages and has shared his winning insights with hundreds of thousands of eager men and women in more than 80 countries. He is an avid reader of management, psychology, economics, metaphysics, and history.

A dynamic speaker, he has motivated and inspired thousands of people toward peak performance and high achievement. His seminars on leadership, goals, motivation, time management, and success psychology draw capacity audiences.

I have enjoyed attending a few of Brian’s seminars and learned many helpful principles that I have applied to the health clubs.

Here’s one of my favorite quotes from Brian that inspires me to pursue success:

“More people are becoming successful at a faster rate than at any other time in history. There have never been more opportunities for you to turn your dreams into reality than there are right now.”

To keep up with this demanding schedule, Brian values his health and takes time to invest in his fitness regimen and weekly workout routine. He recently shared with me what he does to workout and his thoughts on health & fitness.

Brian’s perspective on health and fitness:

My favorite workout routine is to arise early, spend 20 minutes stretching my whole body and then 60-80 minutes on aerobic exercise; either swimming, elliptical machine or Lifecycle sometimes followed by a dumbbell routine, 3-5 times a week.

Your goal should be to live a long, healthy life, to dance at your grand children’s wedding, and to die peacefully in your sleep at the age of 95.

There are three keys to becoming and remaining fit and trim for life:

1. Accept 100% responsibility for yourself and your health habits; repeat continually, “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!”

Stop making excuses for health habits that are not helping you, and start making progress.

2. Set clear, written, measurable goals for each part of your health and physical life.

Decide how long you are going to live, and how you are going to get there. Decide exactly how much you are going to weigh, and by what time period. Determine how much you are going to exercise each week, and make a plan for each day. Determine how much you will sleep each night, how many days you will take off each week, and how many weeks of vacation you will take each year.

Set goals in each area, make written plans, and then discipline yourself to follow your plan.

3. Feed your mind with positive mental nutrition. Read, study, learn and apply good ideas and methods for healthy living.

Take the time to become very well informed about your health, and all the things that you can do to make it better.

As you may have heard, Brian recently battled with a cancerous tumor this year and shared with us an inspiring update on his health situation just a few days ago.

Thank you Brian for the great health and fitness tips! For more motivation, here are two of Brian’s audio programs on health and fitness: “Fit and Trim for Life” and “21 Great Ways to Live to Be 100“.
